Empower. Engage. Elevate.
The YRDSB Student Foundation is committed to advancing educational equity by supporting schools, students and families. Our goal is to raise and distribute funds that directly support student achievement by providing the essential resources that schools and families need to improve learning environments and promote academic excellence. By investing in resources we aim to remove barriers and create meaningful learning opportunities for all students to succeed.
What We Do
The YRDSB Student Foundation identifies resource gaps and barriers that may affect student achievement in vulnerable communities. Through fundraising and donations, we provide schools and families with opportunities for positive learning experiences.
Our efforts are guided by a commitment to advance educational equity and improve student achievement. By directing funds where they are needed most, ranging from essential resources to improving school facilities, we help create environments where all students have the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed regardless of their background.
Programs
Student Fund
We believe that all students deserve the chance to experience a fun and engaging school career. Participating in school activities builds skills, improves confidence and helps students feel more connected to their community. Enriching student life also supports mental well-being and contributes to a more fulfilling school experience that sets students up to succeed both in and out of the classroom. The Student Fund will provide students with opportunities essential to a well-rounded education and lead to greater academic success.

Academic Fund
In York Region, 18.6% of families live below the poverty line. By easing financial pressures often associated with education students can focus on what matters – learning and growing without the burden of financial worry. This support not only helps them succeed in the classroom but also brings relief to their families, creating a more positive experience both in school and at home. The Academic Fund will offer scholarships, bursaries, awards and prizes to students in need. Every donation to the Academic Fund is an investment in a brighter future and stronger community for all YRDSB students.
